This page contains material to assist you in communicating to your grantees that you are accepting the Common Grant Application.

The sample text is offered to help ease the process of changing your grantmaking procedures if you have recently decided to accept any or all of the Common Grant Toolkit. 

The Missouri Common Grant Application logos will help you promote to your constituents that you accept the Missouri Common Grant Application.  It is recommended that you include these logos on your website to let grantseekers know that you accept the CGA.

This template for communicating to your grantees is provided to help ease the requirements of making a transition to different grantmaking procedures. You may want to:

• send out a formal letter to current grantees
• post an announcement on your website and/or annual report, or
• send out a blast email or postcard to your constituents.

Dear NPO Executive:

As a valued partner of the (insert your Foundation name here), I am writing you today to let you know of a change in our grant application guidelines. Beginning on XXXXdate, the (insert your Foundation name here) will accept the Missouri Common Grant Application (CGA) for grant requests. 

(Insert other deadline information or information on the grace period for accepting alternate applications.  Also explain whether you require applicants to complete the short form prior to completing the full application.)

We are excited to join the community of grantmakers who use the CGA. It incorporates current best practices in nonprofit management, and it was designed through a thoughtful, comprehensive, and inclusive process that included both grantmakers and nonprofit organizations. We believe it provides an opportunity for you to highlight and share the important information about your organization with us.
